For years I read about New Yorkers having power breakfasts, making deals at the Regency on the Upper East Side. It seems appealing except for the egg part and having to be all suited up at 7 am. I've had morning meetings at Temptations Cafe. You can come as you are, no suit needed, but you will have to whisper if you're making a deal - there are no booths.

Breakfast centers around bagels, with lox even, pastries including brioche and coffee. There's fruit and yogurt, juice, tea and chai. Several tables are occupied by meeting takers. They are very intent.
