Let's Eat by Kitty Kaufman

We've been eating at Legal Sea Food at the Prudential Center since forever. The menu evolves yet holds - a raw bar for oysters and clams; crab cakes filled with just crab (ditto the lobster rolls); grilled salmon you wish you could duplicate at home; fried everything and chowders: clam, fish and lite. Note: This was true when I wrote it in 2012.

Appetizers: steamers and mussels, crab cakes, calamari, shrimp wontons. Ice-cold salads: Caesar, Greek and goat cheese.

You can get a burger for lunch, but not for dinner. Classics: Surf and turf, baked shrimp, fisherman's platter, shrimp and garlic, fish and chips, sole, cioppino and vegetarian box with curry, cashews, tofu and brown rice.

We were partial to the bar and ordering up oysters for a buck. The bartenders have always been cool. Sadly, the wine list is not online but you will not go thirsty. There are 19 stores in Eastern Mass and none in Western Mass.

P.S. Legal has open a couple and closed a couple. What we know for sure is prices soared way before 2020.
